Pilgram's Rest Freewill Baptist Church on Cedar Island was filled past overflowing with attendees of the Lupton reunion. Many people were left outside wandering the grounds.

The NC ferry Floyd J Lupton.
A "River" class ferry built in the year 2000. Drafting a mere six feet, it is 180 feet in length and 44 in width. With a capacity of 40 vehicles and 300 passengers. Named for Floyd Jackson Lupton (1922-2005), he was an administrative assistant to the late U.S. Rep. Walter Jones Sr. for more than a quarter of a century
